Bettie Chapman Maupin of White Hall, Virginia passed at her home on December 26, 2025. She was born September 3,1932 at the University
Hospital in Charlottesville, VA to Carroll Conrad Chapman and Elizabeth Runkle Chapman. She grew up in Greene County with her loving parents on their family farm.

She worked at Peoples Bank for a few months before going to work for Virginia Telephone and Telegraph Company. There, she worked until her retirement in1993 with over 39 years of service.

In 1953, Bettie met the love of her life, the late William Daniel "Dan" Maupin, Jr. The two married in 1954 and built a house on the Maupin family farm in White Hall, which is where she lived until her death, with the exception of 8 months that she lived in Germany while Dan served his country. Bettie and Dan were married for 61 years.

Bettie is survived by sister Sue Norvelle (Fred), nephew Tom Norvelle (Tracey), niece Terry Palazzi (Ken), nephew James "Zip" Maupin, Jr (Alyson), nephew Danny Maupin (Donna), and nephew Mike Maupin (Helen).

There will be a short memorial service, following the normal church service Sunday, December 28th at Mount Moriah Methodist Church. The church service is 10a - 11a. There will be a break at 11a for people to leave and others to join,
