Betty Ann Barker Nelson of Crozet, Virginia passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 8, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Betty was born on May 2, 1933, in Bound Brook, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Francis and Elsie Haase Barker. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Lee Nelson, her grandson, Cody Nelson Arrington and her brother, James Barker.

In addition to her loving husband of 62 years, Robert N. Nelson of Crozet, Betty is survived by daughters, Lori Nelson Boles of Crozet and Dona Nelson Arrington of Wake Forest, NC; granddaughter, Caitlin Boles and grandsons, Michael and James Arrington and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Coelson Neal.

Betty had many close friends in Bound Brook, NJ, Williamsburg and Crozet, VA. Quilting, crafts, golf and hospital volunteering filled her time before her illness. She loved life, her family and her Lord.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Crozet United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2014.
