Clarice Annette "Ann" (Carroll) Anderson , 84, of Crozet, passed into the loving arms of Jesus surrounded by family on Sunday, October 6.
She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She will also be remembered for her strength and fortitude. Through her journey of many medical problems and struggles in life she taught those around her what it looks like to live bravely with grace.
Born December 10, 1939, she was the daughter of Cecil Andrew Carroll and Clarice Vole (Phillips) Carroll. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Violet Thompson and a brother Cecil Andrew Carroll III. She is survived by a sister Peggy Summy and brother Wayne Carroll.
Ann is survived by her husband, Ralph G. Anderson. She was the proud mother of eight children. She is survived by Sharon Wolford (Kevin), Sandra Frazer (Mark), Eddie Knight (Barbara), Patricia Nickell (Ron), Esther Hantz (Jim), Theresa Shifflett (Rick), Tammy Knight and Mark Knight (Viola). She is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, step-children, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Scooter who gave her much joy.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 12 at 2:30 pm at Mt. Ed Baptist Church. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons Shannon Wolford, Matthew Wolford, Boone Mabe, Corey Knight, Eric Nickell, Justin Shifflett and Zack (Shifflett.
The family would like to thank Ilona Sage, Hospice Nurse, for her loving and compassionate care during Ann's final days. Donations can be sent to The Hospice of the Piedmont in her memory.
