Ernest Burchell Dameron, Sr., 83, of Crozet, finished his journey in this life, on April 6, 2017. He was born on May 6, 1933 in Charlottesville, VA to the late Ernest B. Dameron and Ethel M Dameron, and preceded in death by one sister, Ann Knight.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Dameron and six children, S. Jean Snyder of Troy, VA, Rebecca M Dameron Brown of Palmdale, CA, Ernest B. Dameron, Jr, Brunwick, GA, Ruth E. Monopoli, of Dillwyn, VA, James H. Dameron of Scottsville, VA, and Joe S. Dameron of Palmyra, VA, two brothers, J. Paul Dameron of Leesburg, VA, William V. Dameron of Waynesboro, VA, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He served in the navy in the Korean War and was a self employed carpenter.

The family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home from 6-8 pm on Sunday Night on April 9, 2017

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Crozet Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville with Rev. David Collyer officiating.
