Ethel Marie Herring, 91, of Crozet, VA passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Born in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late J. Richard and Madeline Barnett and Henry N. and Ethel Mae Foster. Marie was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Roy W. Herring, Sr.; brothers, James Barnett, Henry Nelson Foster and Melvin Foster; sisters, Catherine Dudley and Ella Jo Yancey.
She is survived by sons, Roy W. Herring, Jr. and wife, Mary of Waco, TX, James Edward Herring and wife, Darlene of Chattanooga, TX; Michael W. Herring and wife, Martha of Crozet, VA., daughters, Linda Herring-Tomlin and husband Roy of Ruckersville, VA; Sue Browning and husband, Dan of Cherry Log, GA; Ruby Gordon and husband, John of Palmyra, VA; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; sister, Frances F. Morris of Crozet, VA; brother, L. Edward Foster and wif , Norma Jean, of Brandywine, MD and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone at Grace Health and Rehab for the care, prayers, concerns and love given Mama during her last weeks.
The family had a private graveside service on Friday, April 25, 1914 at Rockgate Cemetery, in Crozet, VA with Rev. Doug Forrester officiating.
