Evelyn Luceal Maupin Claytor, 85, of Crozet died at a local nursing home on February 23, 2014. She was born on September 1, 1928 in Albemarle County to the late Ben and Cosey Jones Maupin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Claytor, and two brothers, Jack Maupin and Bernard "Jink" Maupin.

She is survived one daughter, Jenny Martin and one son, Wesley W. Moon and his wife Wanda, with two children, Mandy Rich and her husband Rodney, and Matthew Richard Moon; one beloved son-in-law Richard Martin all of Crozet, VA; two brothers, Raymond Maupin and his wife Daisy, Ben Jr. Maupin and his wife Phyllis, and one sister, Mary "Flossie " Thomas, one sister-in-law Florence Maupin all of Alberene, Virginia; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Evelyn was a member of the Crozet Baptist Church, Founding member of the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad in l978, Crozet Fire Department, Fireman's Wives Association, Volunteer of S.P.C.A, Green Olive Tree, and Martha Jefferson Auxiliary.

Family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2014.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet. Rev David Collyer and Dr. Jim Vaught will officate.
