Frances Kay Ferguson, 76, passed away at a local hospital on July 5, 2015. She was born on July 24, 1938 in Albemarle County to the late Frank M. Graybill and Juanita G. Norvelle. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gleason McGee "Buddy" Ferguson and her second husband, Ray Alexander, and loving companion, Eldridge "Spooky" Hall.
She is survived by two daughters, Freda F. Campbell and husband Jimmy of Afton, Va; Fonda F. Paynter and husband Earle of Louisa, Va. and one son, Brett M. Ferguson of Afton, Va. one sister, Mary Ardell Knott of Crozet, Va. and one brother, Mason N. Graybill and wife Gail of Shipman, Va; seven grandchildren, Gabriel and Joshua Clements, Caleb Campbell, Jenny Shifflett, Forrest Evan Graves, Derrick and Charlie Ferguson and eight great grandchildren, best friend Joyce Black of Palmyra, Va.
Frances was a Nurse for Dr. Tom Bain of Crozet and the Crossroads Family Practice in North Garden; was a Lay Speaker for many years and a long time member of Bethel United Methodist Church and a Grief Support Leader. She had many interests,including spending time in her mountain cabin, traveling, enjoying family gatherings, going to the beach, reading and going out to eat with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 9, 2015 at 10:00 am at Bethel United Methodist Church in Covesville, Va. with Pastor Liz Buxton officiating and interment will follow at Locust Grove cemetery in Afton, VA
