Glenn Allen Anderson surrounded by family members and in the comfort of his home, Glenn Allen Anderson, 53, of Charlottesville, lost his brief battle with cancer on April 9th, 2017. Born July 17, 1963 in Charlottesville, Va. , Glenn was the son of the late Agnes Taylor Rodriguez. He was also preceded in death by his second "Mom", Margaret Marshall and by his father-in-law, James Herring, Sr. Glenn leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Wanda Anderson; his daughter, Rachel Anderson and her fiancé, Mark Wood; his son, Christopher Anderson; his grandchildren, Abigail Rasnake and Braven Wood; his sister, Loretta Meadows; his brothers, Gary Anderson (Maxine), James Meadows and Chris Martin; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Herring; his brothers-in-law, James Herring, Jr., Tony Herring (Laura), Tom Herring (Jenny) and Justin Herring (Lisa); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, cousins, and friends whom he dearly loved. Glenn, also known as "Catfish", loved to fish with his buddies, Glenn Morris, Tim Herring, J.C. Short, and Sam Thomas. Being out of the water on his boat was a great pleasure in his life. The family wishes to thank Pantops Family Medicine and the nurses, doctors, and other staff at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, Cornell 1 and Wendel 1 for their compassionate and expert care of Glenn during his recent hospital stay. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of the Piedmont for their compassionate services during Glenn's transition period. Family visitation will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, St. George Avenue, Crozet, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Timberwood Boulevard off Airport Road, Charlottesville, Va., with Bishop Daniel Player conducting. A meal will follow the services at the church for family and friends. Burial will follow the meal at Gentry's Methodist Church, Boonesville, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to Hospice of the Piedmont or the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. Anderson Funeral Home, Crozet, Va. in charge of arrangements.
