Peggy Lee Walton Fitzgerald of Rosewood Village died peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in Charlottesville, VA. She was born December 5, 1940 in Crozet, VA.

She was a member of Cherry Avenue Christian Church and was retired from Wyndham Nursing Home after 12 years, Acme for 25 years and Morton for 9 years.

She was the beloved daughter of the later Lester Walker Walton and the late Eleanor L. Sandridge Hoover; the beloved wife of the late Junior Franklin Fitzgerald, who died February 26, 1993; and the sister of the late Beverly Ann Walton Pugh. She was predeceased by her oldest son Arthur Franklin Fitzgerald on November 26, 2022.

She is survived by a son Kevin L. Fitzgerald and his wife, Maureen of Stanardsville and 3 grandchildren,  Christopher S. Fitzgerald and his wife, Nicole, of Johnstown, PA; Hannah E. Fitzgerald; and Katherine C. Barnette and her husband, Andrew, of Stanardsville.  5 great grandchildren,  Eithan C. McKenzie E., Kendall, Noah R. and Lincoln M.

Anderson Funeral Home of Crozet VA is in charge of arrangements.  Burial will be at Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet, VA.
