Obituary

he Rev. Dr. Michael George Cole, 81, of Crozet, VA died at his residence on May 13, 2016. He was born in Lyng, Norfolk, England on April 26, 1935, the son of the late Bertie William Cole and Elsie Mable Cook. He was predeceased by a brother, David Cole.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie, two daughters, Rachel M.V. Crigger (Kevin) of Holly Springs, NC, and Ruth Rogerson (Craig) of Ottawa, ON, Canada, and two sons, Gregory A.M. Cole (Staci) of Atlanta, GA, and Charles J. E. Cole (Marianne) of Crozet, VA. He is also survived by a sister, Margaret Lawler and a brother, Bernard Cole, both of England and eight grandchildren, Courtney Dick (Jesse) of Mount Holly NC, Aiden Crigger of Holly Springs, NC, Rebekah Rogerson of Baltimore, MD, Joshua Rogerson of Greeley CO, and Aaron Cole, Ethan Cole, Abigail Cole, Elsie Cole, all of Crozet, VA

He was an Episcopal priest for 55 years and spent much of his ministry as a Chaplain in the Royal Air Force and the Canadian Armed Forces. He also served parishes in Belleville, ON, Canada, Chaptico, MD, Gettysburg, PA, Halifax, VA, and Pawleys Island, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central and Western Virginia Chapter, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901, or Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 229011.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Owensville Rd, Ivy, VA.
