Robert Lee Goolsby, Sr., 78, of Afton, VA died at a local Hospital on Monday, November 28, 2016. He was born on May 27, 1938 in Abemarle County the son, of the late Edwood G. Goolsby Sr.and Edna Virginia Bragg Goolsby, also preceded in death by one brother, James
Goolsby and his wife, Patricia Lee Goolsby.

He is survived by three sons, Robert Lee Goolsby Jr, Michael Wayne Collins, Brian Keith Collins all of Afton, one daughter Grace Elaine Johnson of Scottsville, VA and one step-daughter, Phyllis Carter of Louisa, VA; four brothers, Elwood Goolsby, Jr, William Andrew Jackson (AJ) Goolsby both of Crozet, VA, Kenneth Goolsby of Afton, VA; one sister Mittie L. Smith, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

He worked for VDOT for twenty-seven years.

Family will receive friends at Anderson Funeral Home on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 6-8 pm.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 am, at Mooreland Baptist Church with interment at Wild Rose Cemetery in Batesville, VA with Rev. Bruce Wasson officiating.
