Obituary

Ronald Hancock, 87, of Crozet died on December 6, 2013 at his daughters home in Ruckersville, VA. He was born on September 30, 1926 in Grantsboro, NC the son of the late Dink Hancock and Mamie Hancock. He was preceded in death by his first wife Iris Hancock and second wife Marie Hancock .

He is survived by his four children, Rondell Hancock and wife Laura of Drummonds, TN, Vickie Enfield and husband Richard of Crestview, Florida, Susan Gearhart and husband Bill of Ruckersville, VA, Sandra Hancock of Miami, Florida, and a step-son, Michael Shifflett of Beckley, West Virginia. Six granchildren, Jake and Josh Gearhart, James Beck. Joey Enfield, Gene Beck, Robin Devitt, and several great-grandchildren.

From Escort Ship SS Kimberly he watched the signing of the Peace Treaty with Japan. Ronald managed Hot Shoppes in Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia. He was food manager at GE in Waynesboro and was owner of High Hatters Resturant in Waynesboro, VA. He was owner and manager for many years of Ken Johnson's Cafeteria in Charlottesville, and was manager of Keswick Country Club for several years. Ronald was also manager for several years at Pantops Dining Room, then became broker and owner of Clover Realty for the last forty years.

Family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 5-7 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Crozet Baptist Church with Rev. David Collyer officiating.

Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, VA.
