Roxie Fitzellen Smith,70, of Batesville, died at a local hospital on Saturday, April 19, 2014. She was born in Albemarle County on November 14, 1943 to the late John Kenneth Spencer. Also preceded was one son, Ricky Smith, one brother, Mike Spencer.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Ross Smith of Albemarle County, her mother, Maggie Lozelle Spencer of Alberene, one daughter, Cynthia Dillon and husband Heze of Barboursville, VA, two sons, Bobby Smith of North Garden, VA, Timothy Smith and wife Debra of Charlottesville, VA and daughter-in-law, Donna Smith of Charlottesville, VA; four brothers, Larry Spencer, Ronnie Spencer. Monty Spencer, Donnie Spencer, and sister, Jean Johnson, five grandchildren, April, Richard, Angela Tiffney, and Tracey Smith, one great-grandchild, Nikita Smith.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge of Charlottesville and Waynesboro.

Family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 6-8 pm.

A funeral service will be held at the Crozet Baptist Church on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:00 am with Dr. Ronald Nickell and Rev. Jeff Cale officiating. Internment will follow at Alberene Church Cemetery in Esmont, VA
