Ruby Lee Viar (Jackie) of Crozet was called home on the morning of January 3, 2014 to once again walk alongside of her husband.
Born February 7, 1934, she was a life long resident of Albemarle County, a mother, grandmother, friend and caregiver to many, taking in anyone who needed help during their life's struggles.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Jesse J. Viar, two sons, Donald :Donnie" Wayne Viar and William "Billy" Viar, and three daughters Linda Fitzgerald, Shelby Rosson, and Debra "Debbie" Burgess.
She leaves behind to remember her, two sons, Ronald "Ronnie" Viar and bis wife Linda of Crozet, Jimmy Viar of Crozet, a daughter Barbara Sandridge and her husband Keith all of Crozet, a special daughter-in-law Betsy of batesville, special friends Eddie Strauss "Sprucy" and Jeremy Smith, 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by a very large extended family. She touched the lives of many because it was in her nature to care for and help anyone who came into her life never turning anyone away.
Family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 6-8 pm.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
