Shelby Jean Mills' Obituary
Shelby Jean Bryant Mills, 74, of Crozet went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2014. She was born in Albemarle County on April 17, 1940, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Hazel Carter Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Preston Mills, Jr. formerly of Culpepper, VA. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Regina Lynn, and her son, Gilmer Wayne Wood, their father, Warren Lee Wood, Sr. grandparents Howard E. and Noble P. Carter, William T. and Daisy T. Bryant, a sister, Hazel Beatrice Bryant, brothers, Robert Lewis, Donald Ray, William Loyd Bryant and an unnamed brother.
She is survived by her son, Warren "Hubba" Wood, Jr. and his friend Kathy Parrott and grandson, Robert Lee Wood all of Crozet; her brother, Roger Lee "Sonny" Bryant of Waynesboro, her sister, Anna Bryant Floyd and husband, Ernest Floyd of Mt. Solon; sister-in-Law, Linda Pforr Bryant of Lyndhurst; sister-in-law, Mary Martin and her husband, Paul of Fluvanna, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a former employee of Morton's Frozen Foods, Trimble's Dry Cleaners, and Dollar General Store all of Crozet.
There was no stranger in her eyes, she was well known in the community through her years of service with the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department and Victory Hill Church. She enjoyed spreading the word of God through making Crosses and sharing them with world missions and most everyone she met.
The family would like to give special thanks to Kathy Willis, Joan Snyder, Sara Maupin and Mary Martin.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Crozet Fire Department, P. O. Box 696, Crozet, VA and Commonwealth Community Church, 140 Patterson Mill Lane, Crozet, VA 22932
Family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home on Tuesday, 8. 2014 from 6-8 pm.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Commonwealth Christian Community Church, 140 Patterson Mill Lane, Crozet, VA 22932 and interment will follow at Rockfish Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Nellysford, VA. Pastor Paul Hollifield will be officiating.
