Obituary

Shirley McCauley Cook, age 83, passed away at her home on October 3, 2016. She was frequently referred to as "'Puddin', 'Fat Shirley' or 'Bam Baw'". Shirley was born and raised in Crozet Virginia the daughter of the late Virginia Ella and Vivian Linwood McCauley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Minor Lynwood Cook, her sister Doris Fitzgerald, and brother, Pete McCauley.
She is survived by her five daughters, Ruth Ann Cook Rogers and her husband Charles of Ivy, Lynda K. Stephens and her husband Bill of Richmond, Pamela Jane Cook Patterson and her husband Ricky of Crozet, Tammy Jo Cook Snow of Crozet and Katina Kay Cook also of Crozet. She is also survived by two brothers, Lynwood McCauley of Charlottesville and Irvine McCauley of Illinois. Shirley was grandmother to fourteen grandchildren and eighteen and a half great grandchildren.
She was a member of Crozet Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Crozet Fire Department. She worked for Acme Visible Records, in Crozet Virginia and graduated from Crozet High School.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 696 Crozet, Virginia 22932, Western Albemarle Rescue Squad, PO Box 188 Crozet, Virgina 22932 or Crozet Baptist Church, 5804 St. George Avenue, Crozet Virginia 22932.
Family will have visitation from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 6th at Crozet Baptist Church in Crozet Virginia. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 7th at 11 am at Crozet Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Rockgate Cemetery officiated by Reverend David Collier.
