We regretfully announce the passing of Shirley Ann Small, 78, of Nellysford, Virginia and formerly of Crozet, Virginia. Shirley passed away on November 20th, 2023 at UVA hospital.

Shirley was born in Charlottesville, Virginia to Wilmer Thomas Marsh and Sadie Beatrice Hunt on March 26th, 1945.

Shirley married William Ray Small on August 17th, 1963. They enjoyed a full and happy life together until his death in 2010. While Shirley and Ray did not have any children, they had many nieces and nephews to love and spoil. Shirley always took care of those she loved, and was like a second mother to some. Shirley enjoyed getting her hair done every week and always looking her best, she loved music and taking trips with Ray.

In addition to her Parents and Husband, she is preceded in death by her 3 Brothers, David Marsh, Donald Marsh and Wilmer Marsh.

Shirley is survived by many nieces and nephews who love her very much. Special thanks to Alan and Wanda Marsh for taking care of her over the last few years.

A graveside service will be held on November 24th at 1 pm at Hillsboro Cemetery in Crozet, Virginia.
