Obituary

Stephen Kent Hutchinson of Mission Home VA died unexpectedly at home on December 15th.  He was 81 years old. He is deeply mourned by his wife, Katherine Rabe, who treasures the memories of their many years together.

He is survived by an aunt, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many dear friends, all of whom he loved deeply.

Steve was a talented carpenter, photographer, and mechanic. He was smart, curious, and adventurous.  He tried skydiving (once was enough), he learned to rock climb, race motorcycles and learned to scuba dive at the age of 53 and enjoyed many scuba trips to Florida and the Caribbean.

Steve didn't care what you looked like, where you came from, who you loved, or who you worshipped, so long as, you were a kind and good person.

He loved music, books, cars, art, animals, nature, good coffee, and good bourbon. Most especially he loved his life with Kathy in the home he built for them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stella Kent Hutchinson and Lacy E. Hutchinson, Jr.

A gathering of family and friends will take place at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, please keep Steve in your hearts and his memories close.

Memorial contributions, if you wish, may be made to a charity of your choice.

Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
