Virginia Louise Kennedy, age 99, died at Hospice House in Charlottesville, Va. on Monday, September 21, 2015. For the past eleven years, she had resided at Lovingston Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lovingston, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Kirby and Reva Critzer; her husband, Gary Kennedy; her son, Wallace Kennedy; and four sisters and two brothers.

Louise was born on August 9, 1916 in Albemarle County, Va., where she spent her life making wonderful meals, caramel cakes and taking care of her family. She loved her home, her Batesville family, and life in general. She was always so glad to be with everyone and made sure that they knew how much she loved them.

She is survived by two sons, Phillip Samuel Kennedy (Debra) of Palmyra, Va. and Robert Lee Kennedy of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Diana Kennedy Brown of Afton, Va.; three grandchildren, Tracy Morris (Duane); Kevin Kennedy; and Brad Kennedy (Brandi); and great-grandchildren, Malia and Blaine Kennedy, Eleanor and Lydia Morris, Morgan Kennedy and Jason Powell. She also had a special love for Andrew Hackett of Memphis, Tenn., who was like another son to her.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Wild Rose Cemetery in Batesville, Va.
