Virginia May Haney Tomlin passed away on January 1, 2015 at the age of 96. She was born May 27, 1918 to the late Reuben J. Haney and Hettie Dickerson Haney.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Guy Tomlin and two sons, Richard Allen Tomlin and David Melvin Tomlin.
She is survived by two sons; Guy Rodney Tomlin and his wife Joyce of Amelia, VA, Douglas Wayne Tomlin and his wife Mary Ann of Greenwood, VA; a daughter, Linda Tomlin Phillips and her husband Brad of Waynesboro, VA, and a daughter-in-law, Linda and wife of Richard of Conroe, Texas. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
Virginia (Ginny) was a member of Crozet Baptist Church. She was employed by Morton Frozen Foods (Conagra for 27 years.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people at Avante of Waynesboro for the loving care they gave to our mother.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Crozet, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Crozet Baptist Church. Internment will follow at Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet with Rev. David Collyer and Rev. Colleen Swingle-Titus officiating.
